Steam Punk is genre of Science Fiction that has been developed over the last thirty years. The cookie Cutter definition of Steampunk is that of a story set in Victorian England where there is advanced steam powered technology. This however do just to the rich fantasy world based steampunk.

The technology featured in a steampunk story may include analog computers, automatons/clockwork men, and airships however this is only covers a small fraction of what can accurately be considered steampunk.

An examination of the following subtypes of steampunk stories lend towards a better understanding of steampunk works as a whole.
